Why Is My Hair Breaking?!?! #4

There are many other reasons why Hair breaks-off

I'm just trying to cover the basics.

Many people don't know the difference between Hair loss and Hair Breakage
or the
Difference between Fine Hair and Thin Hair .

Fine Hair means - the Hair strand is baby soft
A person can have a head full of healthy hair but yet very fine

Thin Hair means - Hair loss

* Hair Loss means - that the entire hair strand falls out straight from the roots/follicle and leaves you bald or with bald spots like so.
Herewith is a picture of a severe damage follicle. This action is very popular amongst Africans-Americans because it's cause by relaxers and tight braids.

Damaged Follicle

Such Damage can happen to the edges, nape, crown or sometimes the ends.

This is the reason why relaxer should always be started on the top and nape part of your Hair - never the edges. The edges are the most fragile part of the hair, it should always be handled with extra care. Once the follicle is damaged as this picture it might never grow back again.

Dry and Brittle
Hair Breakage means -
the Hair shaft has been broken in short pieces leaving you with lots of split ends. No damage was caused to the roots/follicle.

You will have new hair growing out continuously on the part of the hair that is emerging from the scalp. Hair breakages occur when the hair gets too dry, chemicals abuse such as:  relaxer, dyes, perms, excessive blow drying , or the force of pulling the hair shafts and stress.

Best Solution:
Stay away from products with alcohol and harsh chemicals.
Hair products with alcohol is only good if you have a healthy oily Hair.

"Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue".
Proverbs 17:28
