An Affordable Way To Get Your 1920's Look?

Who doesn't like to look beautiful and elegant?
It's every women's dream.

I think when a woman is not looking beautiful or elegant is either because she thinks it costs too much money or she doesn't know how.

You don't have to spend a tons of money to look beautiful.
I'll show you later how to look beautiful and elegant for under $50 or $100.00.
Taste is better than money. You just have to know how to pick colors and style, that's all.

The 1920's Style is so beautiful and very  elegant, but very hard to find, and very expensive because it's Vintage.

The best way to obtain these amazing Dresses,  is to find the style you like and find a really good Dress Maker and have them saw it for you. It will look amazing because it'll be customized to your body shape. If I could find a really good Dress Maker every where I go, I would never shop in stores. Back in Cape Verd I had an aunt that use to make me  any Dress I wanted perfectly just by looking at the Magazine. I need to find someone like her now. These beautiful 1920's Dresses were all hand-made.

Having them made by a the Dress Maker, will be much cheaper then if you would by them in the stores. #1- you can never find them, #2 if you do find them, they're outrageously expensive.

Elise there's a Lady in Fulton's Church that can make any Dress, even Wedding Dresses. She saws professionally and even has a blog but I don't remember her name. Ask your sister or Ms Lucy about her so I can post her on my blog too for my friends who lives in New york. And the others can get the ideas how its done.

And here is a site where you can rent anything: dresses, shoes and accessories.
Some times you can't find what you like to buy, or maybe you don't want to spend so much money just for one event. Well here you can find anything you want.
Look your best for your special day and then return it, no hassle.

Did You Know 1920's Elaborated Styles Are In?

Are you going 1920's yet?

Did you know 1920's is the decade in which fashion entered the modern era?

I love both look, they are both beautiful, elegant and very feminine.

That's the year women began wearing shorter skirts and trousers.

Woman from the 1920's got a bad reputation and a bad name as  Flappers for demonstrating how women of that time didn't need to wear huge dresses, long hair and cover every part of their body to be feminine, like they did in the 1800's. To break away from the strict stereotypes, they cut they're hair short, wore flat chested, short dresses that gave them a boy-ish figure, and were not afraid to expose legs, shoulders and arms.

I think the women of the 1920s were courageous. They wanted to be unique and individual as I think they should. Every one has the rights and freedom to be themselves.

I don't look at them as rebels, I look at them as courageous women who were not afraid to express their opinion and individualism.  God did not create us all to look alike or have the same taste. We are each uniquely created in his own image with a free will to pick and choose as we please. I think that's what makes life interesting. You pick and you choose ~ you choose and you pick, and so on and so forth! If you pick right good for you, if you pick wrong, all you need to do is go back and rectify it.
But at least it's your life your choice and your mistakes.

The 1920's Style is not just about bad name and bad reputation it's also about individualism, elegance fun and feminism. They got a bad reputation for breaking man made rules, that every women should dress and look alike. I agree with them, if I was there I would do the same! I think God created us unique, and each with their own body-shape and taste to pick and choose what we like and look better on each one of us.

Women don't have to walk around have naked to be attractive. I also agree that women don't need to wear huge long dresses down to their feet, extra long hair or cover every part of their body to be Holy or feminine. We don't have to sacrifice fashion to be modest, or to look feminine and elegant. Any women can be well dressed, elegant, modest and feminine without looking cheap and easy if she wants too.

I love long loose Dresses, but I would like to wear it on my own terms as I choose and not as an obligation! I think the fun of getting dressed every morning is to explore and experiment what looks great on you. The colors that compliments your skin-tone and the cuts and styles that accentuates your curves and makes you look/feel good about your self. That's what dressing-up is all about to me. I want to feel free to be me. Walking around looking like everyone else is boring to me! That's why I admire the women of 20's.

The dresses were all about drooped waist with beautiful details to showcase the hips.
Every Dress were accessorized with Oodles of beadings, furs, feathers, flowers and laces.

Did you know that's the year "CoCo" Channel became famous. She promoted the style we associate with Flappers. The style were flowing and comfortable and she worked in neutral tone of beige, sand, cream, navy and black colors.
She's the originator of LBD - little black dress. That little black dress we all love today.

These were the most popular colors of 1920's fashion.

Now how pretty elegant and feminine are these Dresses?
These beautiful 1920s Dresses were all hand made.
Now these were the real Seamstress.

The 1920s Dress style is all about Lace, lace, and more lace. Oh yeah feathers, beads and flowers too.

You should adopt it as well because it's chic, fun  and elegant.

Self- Disciplined

What is Discipline?

Discipline is to say "No" when your entire being wants to say "Yes"!
  • Discipline- is to walk in a store and come out with the pair of shoes, or clothing you need and not the ones you liked. Now that's real discipline!:-)))
  • Discipline- is to walk in a store and see all those beautiful look at me dresses; too revealing, too short, or those beautiful see through blouses and you just walk away. Walk away because although you like'm they don't represent who you are.
  • Discipline- is being able to manipulate the trends out there and mold them to suit your character without compromising your belief and your principals without sacrificing style.
  •  Discipline- is too know when to stop shopping.
  • Discipline- is to command your self/body to do the right thing even when it hurts.
  • Discipline- is to train your mind into being yourself, having your very own personal-style. I know trying new things can be scary for some people, so take baby steps by starting with your best features or what you like the most about yourself.

Undisciplined person dresses like this in public because they neither have self-respect nor respects for others.
They have no self-rules, dignity or dress code.
They force every one to look at them wether you want to or not.
They live their lives as if there's no tomorrow.

These are some beautiful ideas on how to wear your super short-short dresses without looking like this

You can wear them with your tights or your skinny jeans like s.

Now tell me how great will these tops look with your skinny jeans or tights with these boots? These ankle boots are great because they can be worn all year around. So invest and buy a really nice one. you can wear them with your skinny jeans, tights, pants, dresses or skirts.

How cute are these mini dresses?
How gorgeous are these boots?

When you're a Disciplined person you can wear anything and still look great!
Look at this style it looks great and decent.
I love everything here.

I love this white blouse with suspender
but because I'm a Disciplined Style person
I would close the next button  or tie a really pretty silk scarf around my neck with it and Voila`.

Self-Discipline: is a life-long on going process, it never ends!

Talents, knowledge, power or money without Self-Discipline is meaningless.
Self-Discipline is the ability to tell our ego, overconfident self, pride, laziness, bad habits, self-doubts and everything else that comes with the package to get behind us and let us do what needs to be done.

Self-discipline means denying your flesh desires and impulse, resisting temptations to do what's right or needs to be done. Discipline means, mental freedom. Freedom to be able to think and act as you think best, and not as others think you should. Discipline is earned and taught through a hard core self-teaching. Self-disciplene doesn't happen overnight, but when it does the rewards are for life. No one is born with Self-Discipline. Self-Discipline means developing a Strong Stamina! It means denying your feelings and emotions to do what's right.

It means to train our selves into creating new personal-styles, new habits of thoughts, acts and speech. When we're 'undisciplined', we have no goals, no taste and no opinions of our own. We go with the flow. We're slaves to whatever other says. We're slaves to trends, and media. Whatever they say is in style, or whatever we see others wearing, we'll do as well.

What do you think hurts more "The pain of having to Discipline your-self or the pain of Regrets" and consequences? Should-off, could-off, would-off etc.? I think discipline is much cheaper, what do you guys think?

When you're a Disciplined person your Solo goal in life is to change yourself daily.
You're not trying to follow the crowd, you just trying to be a better you!

"For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruits of righteousness to those who has been trained by it". Hebrews 12:11

Innovation
What is Innovation?

Innovation is all about the renewing of your mind.

Innovation: is to never be conformed, always renewing your mind.
Always trying to find new ways of doing things.
In short, never be afraid of trying new things.

An Innovated Person: is a persistent person who is not afraid to take risks and make mistakes. Persistence is the key to all victory in life. An Innovated person does not go with the flow. She creates her own flow! She's able to customize and modify any trend out there to her own personal-Style without being a trend copycat.
She's not afraid to try a new lipstick color, different styles and color of clothes every now and then. If you have those heirlooms that you just can't let go, update them! Mix and match them with some more updated pieces. Maybe  you have some pieces in your closet that you love so much that you can't let go, or maybe it belonged to your family for several generations. So be an Innovated person and updated it. Change the buttons, add a belt, add some flowers applique to it etc... and Voilà.
Or you can frame them and use them as a remembrance souvenir relic of your family in your office or TV room.

Herewith is a quick list of  7 different ways how to be an Innovated person and have your very own Innovated personal-style.
  • 1-Addition
  • 2-Alteration
  • 3-Depart
  • 4-Deviation
  • 5-Latesd Fashion
  • 6-Modification
  • 7-Modernization
1-Addition: don't be afraid to add something different to your wardrobe, your makeup, your jewelry collection and your hair jewelry every now and then.

2-Alteration: when you buy a dress that doesn't do your curve a justice take it to the cleaners and have them alter it to your body shape. Or you find something really nice on Sale, if the price is right take it to the cleaners and have them alter it to your size or length. I do it.

3-Depart: abandon, slip away from those old fashion mentality.

4-Deviation: little-by-little start to deviate from that old fashion or let's say
not so interested wardrobe you have established.

5-Lastest Fashion: be informed on what's the latest trend so you'll know what to invest your money when you go shopping. You don't have to be a Fashionista, but we all need to buy clothes one way or the other right? So, if you gonna buy some clothes don't you think is better to invest on some fashionable clothing?

6-Modification: have variations of clothes and colors in your wardrobe.
Customize and modify your wardrobe so you'll have suitable outfits for every for every occasion.

7- Modernization:   just because we're in the 20th century, doesn't mean you should only wear modern clothes. The Vintage is never outdated in my Style -book. The 50's is my inspiration for when I'm shopping. I love the feeling of it. The 50's are 'The' most Lady-like, feminine, beautiful, sophisticated and elegant style of all times. Although it's more beautiful and more fun to wear, we must understand that everything in life changes, the weather changes, we change, fashion changes and technology change as well. I love Lucille Balls style on I love Lucy. the 50's fashion, I'm always looking for clothes that has a little feel of the 50's to it. But that does mean I'm gonna walk around rock-n-rolling as if I'm back in the 50's. A modernist person knows how to mix and match the old with the new. If you like the feel of the 50's or the 70's, add one piece at the time to your outfit. Nothing stays the same forever, when the world turns we have no choice but to turn with it as well!

I love Polka Dots! There's nothing that says 50's more then Polka Dots.

The 50's Style is all about polka dots, square, and deep round neck line cuts, A-line skirts and dresses to accentuate your waist.

Love, love these dresses, the color the style and the neck details are just amazing.

Beautiful soft pastel Roses.

How elegant and feminine are these suits?

Just gorgeous! These suits can take you from the office all the way to a cocktail party.

        I love this Dress!
Tell me this is not a fun beautiful and elegant dress to wear? I'll wear this dress anytime. Just gorgeous.
