When buying some good quality pumps, remember that the size may vary depending on the brands. If you're not sure what size fits you best ask the store to measure your feet or try two or three different sizes until you get the right fit. There's nothing worse than an ill-fitting shoes.
If you have large ankles:
Avoid ankle strap style shoes.
Buy plain pumps and slingback, it'll take the attention away from your ankle.
If you have short legs:
Avoid t-strap style and bright colored shoes, it'll make you look shorter.
Instead, go for the open toes, black and nude shoes they'll make your legs look longer.
If you have wide feet:
Go for the round-toed style.
If you want your legs to look lean and longer:
Go for pointy toes style, it'll give you an illusion of extra height.
Plus size woman:
Go for the platforms and thicker heels style shoes for extra comfort.
Heel height is extremely important:
Remember that they do come in different height from 1' all the way 5' + inches. It's up to you to decide what's comfortable for you. You don't have to wear 4' and 5' inches just because everybody is doing it, or trying to impress someone. You probably have tons of shoes sitting in your closet collecting dust, and don't wear it because it's to high. Am I right? I use to do the same thing. :- )
Make sure you're comfortable with the height of your shoes without bending your knees or hunching your back while walking. If your legs feel shaky don't be embarrassed to go down few inches. I'm very comfortable with 3' to 3'1/2 inches, anything more than that my legs starts to shake. So I don't do it because I'm not about to break or twist my ankle for the safe of fashion.
If you're bending and hunching your back while wearing high heels:
When you wear heels you should be able to walk with your knee and back straight, if not they're to high for you. Some woman can't walk in heels because they have the wrong height and uncomfortable material shoes. Heels are not sneakers or sandals. When wearing heels, take small steps, taking large steps makes you look award, and you can hurt yourself. There's no point in being painfully miserable just for the sake of looking good.
If you do lots of walking:
A pair of neutral color in ballet is a must have.
Try to minimize the amount of time you spend on your high heels, by getting for yourself one of this beautiful ballet shoes. Just fold them and through them in your purse, when your feet says enough put this cute little ballet shoes on... and enjoy your life without having to sacrificing your poor little feet, back and knees just for the sake of looking good. Not to mention looking stupid and award walking down the streets hunching and dragging your feet because your shoes hurt. Pinching shoes are no fun... no matter how cute or expensive they are. I don't know about you guys, but I prefer to walk bare-feet, than to be wearing a beautiful expensive pinching shoes!
