Best Summer Up-Dos For Every Hair & Face Shape

For me summer is all about beautiful up-dos. I've selected a group of simple and beautiful summer hair styles for every face shape and hair type. They're all do-it-yourself hair styles, so you can look beautiful in the heat and save money at the same time.

Who wants their hair in their face with 100* out there. In these hot and humid days there's nothing more cooling and romantic than your hair brushed out of your face. Just pick the one that suits you best.

This is my daughter Elise, she did this summer style all by her self. She just comb her hair to the side and pined it with some bobby pins, made some pin curls with her fingers and hold it with some pins and sat under the dryer. Once the hair is dry remove the pins and you have beautiful curls that will last you all day. You can do pin curls on any hair length.

They come in different colors and molds

If you don't have enough hair use a sponge Donut to give you more volume or simply use a fake Bun.

                                                     

Just tie your hair into a ponytail insert the sponge Donut cover it with your hair and stick the end of your hair under the sponge and fasten it with bobby pins.

For this beautiful and stylish look, (especially in the summer), all you need to do is add a little bit of gel for sleekness making sure the edges are nice and smooth, twist the front of your hair, brush the back up into a ponytail and curl the ends if your hair is long enough. If your hair is not long enough attach a fake ponytail and do the banana curls. Banana curls means big closed curls.

                                                                                           

Allow your hair to dry curly and then pin up the back. If you want a dressier look as for a wedding or prom just add some hair jewel like so.

Skinny Hairline Braids
 Part your hair in the middle, add some cream leave-in conditioner frizz control. For a sleek look. Starting at the temple gives you a more classy look. French braid nice and firm keeping it close to the hairline. Do not add section of the hair over each other, add them under so you can have a nice corn row effect. Braid it all the way to the back of your head, secure the end with those tiny elastics and repeat the other side. Once you're finished, twist them together into a bun and add a little hairspray. And you got yourself a beautiful and easy hair do. For a more casual look like Jessica Alba, part in the middle and start your braids in the middle with a natural messy finger comb kind of style and a messy wrap bun.

For this Look, all you need to do is:
 part your hair in the middle making two sections, brush your hair and make two low braids and then overlap them one over the other and pin it with hair pins.

Very simple but yet very pretty with a romantic look.

when you just don't know what to do to your hair.

Flower Bun
How simple romantic and inexpensive is this.It can be worn for  a wedding, a prom, a classy event or just hanging out with your friends. Just tie your hair back adding a donut sponge for fulness and some beautiful flowers color of your choice depending on the occasion.




 

Triple Ponytail                   Very simple and yet very sophisticated. You can make a messy casual one to wear with your jeans or you can make a nice and sleek one like this that can take you anywhere from a prom to a wedding. 

All you need to do is divide your hair into three sections, small, medium and large. Starting from the nape, tie the smaller one first, then the middle one, and the top last, each individually.  Now join the top to the middle one and then both together to the smallest one. You can use a clear or your hair color elastic, or you can wrap a piece of electrical tape around the elastic for a chicer look. It's very simple and very pretty, and it can be done with basically any hair length 

Now how cute and simple is this? I use to wear my hair like this all the time back in the 70's. You can twist one side like this one you can twist both sides and have them meet in the middle. It can be done with any type hair or texture, long or shoulder length.

How To Do A Wet Wrap

The wet wrap is 'The' best hair style in the summer, especially if you have short hair.

The reason I'm repeating my self over and over again, is because my daughters keep on telling me that I have to simplify things as style for Dummies. Meaning simple enough so every one can understand. There are tons of professional blogs out there but sometimes they're way too complicated. So my goal is to take the ideas, chew 'hem-up and and give to you in the language you can understand.

Boar Bristle Brush

This brush is one of the best brush for African American hair. But avoid brushing excessively.
Make sure to get the one made from  wild boar/hog hair. It's a bit more expensive but it's worth the money because it's a lot more kind to your hair and it spreads your natural's oil much better. The synthetic ones (made out of plastic) is cheaper but it causes breakage because it's too hush to your hair.
If you have African American hair, you should never use it to detangle your hair, or it will result  in hair breakage. It should only be used to smooth your hair as in a wet wrap, into a ponytail, polish your look, working in gel into your edges and hair when you're making a puff or a bun.
How to know the difference between them two? Just run your hands through it, the real one should be softer and it should not shed.

Best Hair Styles For Summer

Summer hair is suppose to look natural and effortless. Not overworked!


Loose summer curls:

To avoid the frustration of your curls dropping on you, keep it nice and natural looking, even a bit messy looks great in the summer. So when it does get sweaty and messy with the heat it'll still look great. I like my hair messy beach-y looking in the summer, I think it's romantic and very feminism. There's no point in keeping overworked and neatly hair-do, it's not gone stay anyways. And avoid touching your hair, the more you touch it the frizzier it'll get, because of the heat.

Using a one-inch curling iron, alternate your curls one going towards your face and some away.

For this beautiful romantic look just curl the back and left side of your hair, leaving the front with a nice soft swipe to the side bang. Beautiful and simple.


Curl the back of your hair interlocking, meaning one curl going back and one coming to your face, and the sides coming towards the face with a nice slick bang. Do not curl the top of your head, and make sure to use your leave-in cream conditioner before and after blowdrying.

This is a perfect hair style for summer
wash towel blot, add a little leave-in cream conditioner and blow-dry. Using a large curling iron, curl some section toward the face and some going back. This procedure will give you a more natural looking curls. The curls will interlock within each other,  making it
last longer.









The secret for beautiful 
curls in the summer, is 
the cream leave-in conditioner for shine and moisture to prevent frizz and swelling, (puffiness) and the interlocking curls for lasting longer and volume.

It's soft natural looking can flatter any woman's face.

This one you would curl it softer than the one on top,
and comb it with your fingers.

When I say curl it soft, I mean you take a little bit larger amount of hair and you don't tighten the curling iron to tight, or just wrap the hair around the curling iron.

This is a beautiful all year around style, especially for summer
because it has a soft summer look curl. With this curls you don't have to worry about your curls dropping.

All you need to do is wash softly towel dry your hair, add cram conditioner and blow dry your hair. Using a large curling iron,
 curl it downward starting from the sides all the way around as if you where roller setting it. Do not curl the to of your head. Just bump the bang with the iron so it can be nice and soft and swift it to the side like so. When you're finished open the curls with your fingers or a large tooth comb.






For these beautiful full headed shiny curls, all you need to do is roller set it and sit under the dryer until your hair is completely dry.  Make sure to use lots of leave-in cream conditioner for shine.

And for silkiness make sure it's completely dry, to know if it's dry check the roller on the top of your head, if the top of your head is dry, your whole head is dry.

When is dry, allow your hair to cool down before removing the rollers, that will lock in the curls for a perfect silky shiny curls that will last you all day long.











This is also nice for summer because it's a straight look, so you don't have to worry about your curl dropping.

Even if it gets a little frizzy it'll still look nice.
It'll sort give you that nice messy unkept beach frizzy kind of look. I think it's pretty.
You can even swash the bang to the side and pin it up with
some really nice hair jewel.
Make sure to put on loots of leave-in cream conditioner before blowdrying an after for a nice slick look. And it will not puff-up.

Do you hold on to those frayed ends just because you don't want to loose the length? Well, sadly to say, but if you keep on holding to those dead ends you'll never  fix your problem. Yeah, maybe you don't trust hairdressers because you think they'll cut too much of your hair, but you shouldn't cut it yourself either, besides if you do it regularly there's no reason to cut too much.   If you want to know how to have beautiful and healthy hair just keep on reading.        Do you buy every product you see on the market?Do you think your hair has a mind of its own? Is it dry and frizzy for no reason? Is it unreasoned or untamed? Do you think it could be chemically over-processed? Did you ever think that maybe is the product you're using? Or could it be that you simply need a 1/2 inch trim?

 3   -Do you hate getting a trim?
I know women that walks around with some dry frayed frizzy dead ends and refuses to trim their hair because they don't want to loose the length. What's more important, having a healthy shorter length hair or a long frizzy stringy unhealthy looking hair? Not to mention that it'll break off anyways. Once you have a nice soft layer cut you wont need to load up on styling products. If you're using more than one product to tame your hair or making it smooth or fuller, the chance is your hair is damaged. All these mousse and gel and hairspray you're using may work for few hours, but it's actually murdering your hair silently. It's robbing your hair of it's shine and natural texture, leaving you with a steel-wool brittle hair.

Seriously it's a must try! They use it in the Brazilian Saloons and charge an arm and a leg for it. All you need to do is mix it to the Silicone Mix and apply it on the shampooed hair and cover with aplastic cap and sit under the head dryer or heating cap for 15mim and than rinse and style. If you don't have neither head dryer or heating cap, just let it sit for 30mim than rinse dry and style. It's inexpensive and will last you a long time.

Or you can use Aloe Vera, cut the Aloe Vera leaf boil it let it cool wash your hair with it or use it as a leave-in conditioner. It's healthy, inexpensive and makes your hair shinny and smoother than any product you can buy. Try it, it works!








 8    - All these products:
All these line of products I listed are really good, I recommend them all, but if you don't have the money, try, egg yolk, grape seed oil, olive oil or jojoba oil straight from the bottle. Just warm it up and apply to your hair (dry) and leave it for about 15-20 min than shampoo and apply a small
amount of a conditioner massage, rinse and dry.


9   - This is an Diffuser Dryer

All you need to do is attach it to a blowdryer and dry your curls

 If you dry your curly hair with this Diffuser there's a

             less chance of your hair swelling or go frizzy on you, even on those hot summer days.  

That's what I do to my hair. I've noticed that if I let my hair to air dry, it swells up with the summer heat. But when I dry it with a Diffuser or under a head dryer for about 15min before I leave the house it locks in the curls and the shine and it looks beautiful all day long. It does not swell at all. 

                                      

10   - The only comb you should be using + your fingers

You should never use bristle brush or small teeth comb on your hair. This is the comb you should be using.

                                                                                                                                       

11   - All you need to do:
*-get a trim at least every six months
*-always use sulfate-free shampoo
*-always use a wide tooth comb
*-use a ponytail holder without metal clip
*-loosen your hair and use a silk cap on your hair while sleeping to avoid breakage
*-do a protein conditioning treatment once a week with any of these products listed above
*-if your hair is dry, Co-wash it sometimes, means wash your hair with conditioner instead shampoo
*-get organic products with natural oils such as: almond, coconut oil and jojoba oils
*-use a serum/spray (heat protective spray) before using any heat on your hair
*-Try stretching your relaxer for up to 8 weeks, it'll give you fullness and you'll avoid overlapping relaxer to your older one (causing over process)
*-all you need is a well-layered haircut that's not too heavy at the bottom. That'll do the trick!

12   -Don'ts:
 *avoid washing your hair more than once or twice a week,
*don't twist or rub hair with a towel it can break your weak ends,  dab it dry
* avoid mineral oils and petri oil, they dry your hair
* avoid products with petroleum, it makes your hair stiff, dry and greasy
*try natural oils such as:coconut, jojoba, olive and castor
* avoid using small combs and bristle brushes they break your hair
* avoid using grease on your hair, it only coats your hair making it uneasy to manage
* if you treat it once a week, you wont have the need to grease your hair

Once a friend of mine jumped in the water and when she came out she had no tops! Can you imagine? Her fun day at the beach was ruined. She was so embarrassed that she wanted to run from there and go home. I never had any accidents like this because to me a day at the beach is "The" most relaxing stress relief ever, and I refuse to have it ruined by some uncomfortable look-at-me bathing suits. I think going to the beach you have to choose one or the other: you either walk around the beach with your tiny-tinny-little-dinky bikini just to show-off your body, or put on a beautiful comfortable bathing suit and enjoy you day at the beach.

Trust me you cannot do both. It's got be one or the other. Frankly, I don't think anyone cares what you're wearing at the beach. I know, I don't! When I'm at the beach I don't care if a person on my right side has a six-pack, or the one on my left weighs 300lb., that's not what I'm there for. I don't look at anyone, and I don't care who's looking at me! Never did. You see, I was born right in front of the ocean, to me beach is personal, - : )

When I'm at the beach I get blindfolded by the site view of the beach, the relaxing sea breeze in my face, the crunchy sand feeling in my toes, the nice warmth of the sun on my skin, got the point? All I want to do is throw a towel on the sand and relax. I think beach is the best medicine for stress or depression. No matter how stressed out I my be, or how heavy my mind is, once I get near the ocean, I'm worries free!

Oh, I forgot to mention that they do come in sizes ladies. Some people don't know how to pick a swimsuit. You should always get a size smaller than your dress size, so you can  get a nice firm fitted look. Let say, if your dress size is an eight get a size six bathing suit. So when it gets wet it wont be saggy on your body. That's what I do. They're not cheap, so take a good care of it so it can last you a long, rinse it in cold water as soon as you get home and hang it to dry in the shade or bathtub until it's dry, do not hang it in the sun because it already took enough sun all day at the beach. That'll prevent discoloration. And make sure not to put it in the dryer, the heat will destroy it's elasticity.

Oh, yeah, don't forget your Cat's eye sunglass, it's very much in. In fact it was never out!
